A season for everything…
Every chapter in life comes to an end.
And I’m afraid that it has just come to the moment for this blog to end as well.
When I started this blog a year ago, I had no idea how it would go, if I would keep up with it, if anyone would actually read it, etc. So I just want to thank each of you for coming on this journey with me.
Somewhere along the way, though, I lost my passion for doing hair. I lost inspiration, had no time, and keeping up with the blog seemed like more and more of a chore. That’s not what blogging is about. As you guys already know, I’ve only had a handful of posts since this school year started. Although I had so much fun when I started, there’s a season for everything.
As I go off to college, I’ll no longer see my models. I also want to spend more time on my book blog, the NerdHerdReads. That’s where my current passion lies. Although the Disney pics every week were also fun, they’re not what the blog is about, and take up too much time I don’t have.
That said, I’m not going to delete the blog. I’m going to leave it just as it is for anyone who wants to read past posts, and in the event that my passion comes back and I start it up again. Thank you guys for putting up with me. It’s been a great year, and although I’ll miss it, it’s just what has to be done.

I kind of want to start a personal blog. Would anyone be interested/follow me if I did?
May Report Card
Well, it’s that time of month: grade myself on my May Resolutions!
1. Post Every Week: D
Yeah…there is a whole separate post coming tomorrow about this… The only hair post I did this month was the Prim Braid on Nicole.
2. Read more: A+
Really made headway this month with my reading, with a whopping 20 books (well, 17 books and 3 novellas), ending up pretty well ahead in my Goodreads challenge. In fact, I’ve read half of my goal already for this year, and am 10 books ahead. School being out accounted for this, as well as the fact as I think I just had a whole bunch of books I liked to read this month. This also seemed to be the month for multiples by the same author.
The books I read this month are:
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
Unraveling,
Undone (a novella),
Unbreakable by Elizabeth Norris
The Last Little Blue Envelope by Maureen Johnson
Spark (check out my review here)
Spirit,
Breathless (a novella) by Brigid Kemmerer
The Prince (a novella)
The Elite by Kiera Cass
Infinity,
Invincible,
Infamous by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Catching Jordan,
Stealing Parker by Miranda Kenneally
Birthmarked (check out my review here)
Prized,
Promised by Caragh M. O’Brien
Graceling,
Fire by Kristin Cashore
All titles linked to their Goodreads page
3. Get Healthy: B-
Although I have been eating healthier, it’s mainly been because now that I eat every meal at home, I eat what my mother cooks. Not being at school, and not going anywhere, there are no vending machines or places to buy things to tempt me. So although I have been doing it, I’m not quite sure how much is of my own accord. I’ve been suffering serious soda withdrawals. :*(
So that’s is for this month! Don’t forget to check out Kelli’s May Report Card and Link-Up!
Disney Princess Challenge: Day 20
Day 20: The movie that is your favorite
Guys, this is the last day of the challenge!! :/ It’s been fun, and now I need to figure out what I’m going to do on Sundays from now on…
But anyway, back to the challenge. This one is easy! TAAAANGLED!!! I really do love that movie. Rapunzel is amazing, Flynn is absolutely swoon-worthy, their relationship is hilarious, and of course Maximus and Pascal make everything better.
Well, that’s it for this challenge! Feel free to do the challenge on your own blog, whether one a week like I did, or 20 days in a row. Leave your link in the comments so I can visit you if you decide to do it too

Disney Princess Challenge: Day 19
Day 19: The movie you wish was your life
I’m not really sure that I would wish any of the stories were my life because they all had issues with their lives. Sure, they were princesses and ended up with hot guys and spent their days singing and dancing through forests…
Anyway, I guess if I had to choose, I’d pick Jasmine. I’m not deluded; if we’re being politically accurate, I do know that the Middle East is not the place I would want to be. But if we’re going with the Disney version, well, I wouldn’t mind an Aladdin

Prim braid | the Hunger Games
One of the braids I used to do most often in the beginning was the Prim braid on Nicole. This was before I started taking pics, and before this blog started.
Today, Nicole had our lunch, because of testing, so I took this opportunity to do the Prim braid again (for what may be the last time ever D: )
The Prim braid is super simple. Just two French braids on either side of the head, that sort of curve around the ear and then come down. Super easy, and super cute. I do think of this as more of a younger hairstyle, which is why I’ve only done it on Nicole. She’s the “baby” of our group, and the only one who could pull it off.

May Resolutions
Okay, time for May’s resolutions!
This is the last month of school (OH EM GEE I’M GRADUATING!!) so I don’t know how I’ll continue this blog since I won’t see my friends. But I’ll worry about that next month. We’re just going to enjoy this month.
1. Post every week
I’m going to not only post every week, but also try to do some extra posts to hold over in the summer. HOPEFULLY. Seeing as how I can’t even do the one a week, we’ll see how this works.
2. Continue reading
I went above and beyond what I expected to read, and it was so much fun. If I keep up this way, hopefully I’ll make a dent in my huge To-Read list. A couple I want to read this month are:
Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan (eventually…)
Spark by Brigid Kemmerer (as part of the Elemental read-along with StarryEyedRevue and Cuddlebuggery)
The Elite by Kiera Cass
Infamous and Inferno by Sherrilyn Kenyon
3. Get healthy
I have had really bad eczema all my life, but lately it’s gotten worse. I’ve been to the allergist a lot, but it also comes down to the fact that I need to start exercising more and eating healthier. Blech >_<
I don’t really have anything else for right now. I’m sure there’s more I should do, but I can’t think of anything right now.
Don’t forget to check out Kelli’s May resolutions!
Stay classy,

April Report Card
Earlier this month, I did a post called April Resolutions. This is where I grade myself on how well I kept to my goals. So, let’s see how I did!
1. Hair post every week
Since I did the resolution on the second week of the month, that means I should have had 3 posts this month (if you count this week as May). I only had two, and one was late and crappy (my apologies again).
Grade: C-
2. Read More
This one I actually managed to do very well. I read 10 books this month, and am currently reading one that I’ll finish by today or tomorrow. The books I read are:
Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare (check out my review here)
The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa
Burn by Ted Dekker
Elemental by Brigid Kemmerer (this was actually a novella) (check out my review here)
Storm by Brigid Kemmerer (check out my review here)
My Worst Best Friend by Dyan Sheldon
13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson
The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa
Picture Perfect by Janice Thompson
Requiem by Lauren Oliver
(all titles linked to their Goodreads page)
So the only one on my list I didn’t read was Mark of Athena. (I will, eventually, read it)
Grade: A+
3. Decide which college I’m going to
Yes guys, I finally made my decision. I will be attending the University of Central Oklahoma in the fall. It wasn’t my first choice, but I’m okay with it. And hey, can’t pass up a full tuition scholarship.
Grade: A
4. Get a job
Okay, this one is going to be struck off the list because I’m not going to get one until the summer. So I’m not going to give myself a grade.
5. Read my Bible more
Although I did start reading my Bible more, it’s not nearly enough.
Grade: C
Overall Grade: B
Also, as if Dallas and I didn’t have enough work keeping up with our own blogs, we started another one. TheNerdHerdReads is a book review blog that we run together, so check it out!
Check back later this week for May resolutions!
Stay classy,
xoxo, the HairNinja
P.S. don’t forget to check out Kelli’s April report card!
Disney Princess Challenge: Day 17
Day 17: A scene that makes you cheer
A scene that makes me cheer? That makes me think of waving my arms and screaming “yaaaayyyy!!!!” Which I have never done. So how about “a scene that makes me really happy?”
So a scene that makes me really happy… probably when Flynn intrudes into Rapunzel’s tower, and she hits him over the head with a frying pan. Because that is the correct way to deal with a creepy stalker dude.

Prim’s braid | Catching Fire
So if you’ve been following this blog for a while, you know that the whole thing started with Katniss’ braid from the Hunger Games movie. So I am extra excited to be showing you Prim’s braid from the Catching Fire trailer today!! Who else can’t wait for the movie to come out??
So this is the back, and most of the hairstyle.
It’s pretty much like the Katniss braid, but with hair left over and a little bit more braid at the top. (Closeup farther down)
Here are both the side views. As you can see, it’s a bit messy, and I didn’t get the angle quite right. But the main point is still there.
And here is a closeup of the top part.
It is different from the Katniss braid in that the top part is a lace Dutch braid, then you go to a full Dutch braid (with adding hair on both sides), and then back to a lace Dutch braid.
And thanks to CuteGirlHairstyles for the tutorial!
And just for fun, the Catching Fire teaser trailer, haha
