Prim braid | the Hunger Games

One of the braids I used to do most often in the beginning was the Prim braid on Nicole. This was before I started taking pics, and before this blog started.

Today, Nicole had our lunch, because of testing, so I took this opportunity to do the Prim braid again (for what may be the last time ever D: )

The Prim braid is super simple. Just two French braids on either side of the head, that sort of curve around the ear and then come down. Super easy, and super cute. I do think of this as more of a younger hairstyle, which is why I’ve only done it on Nicole. She’s the “baby” of our group, and the only one who could pull it off.

“This is close enough!”

Side Dutch Braid

I have another picture-inspired hairstyle, also from Pinterest, done on Nicole.

Source: google.ca via Rachel on Pinterest

It’s a side-Dutch braid, and was actually a bit harder than I thought because the hair kept getting tangled and caught and whatnot. It did not want to come over from the other side. Also, Nicole has an unmovable part. Like, seriously. No matter how many times I brush over it, and try repart it, it will not. At all.

Regardless, I think it still turned out pretty well. I got weird looks from people at the other table though… >_>

And as I write this, I remember that Kaley did do a tutorial on it once. Skip to 3:15 to get to this braid, unless you just want to sit through the others.

Our Gladiator Princess

First of all, with Nicole being one of the first people I did hair on (after Dallas, before Hannah) I can’t believe that I am just now writing an article with her in it. But it’s because that when I first started, I didn’t take pictures of hair. I mostly did the Prim hairstyles on her, and I need to redo those one day so I can blog about them!

That said, I have no idea what this is. I started doing something else, and it didn’t work, so Mikael helped me and this is what we ended up with.

The reason this is called the Gladiator Princess braid is because Nicole was on her way to JCL (Junior Classical League. It’s like a competition for Latin Club) I forget what she said, but it was something to do with having to go be a gladiator and then Mikael added the Princess part. Bam.
